What Is an Xactimate Estimate?
Xactimate is the estimating software used by most U.S. property insurers and adjusters to price repair and restoration work. An Xactimate estimate lists every repair as a standardized line item, such as tear-off, replacement, drying equipment, cleaning or painting. Each line uses regional price lists that are updated regularly.
Because carriers review claims in Xactimate, contractors and policyholders who submit their own detailed Xactimate estimates communicate in the insurer’s format. That makes it easier to find missing items, request supplements and reduce back-and-forth on the claim.
